Get in touch with console positions

Soft Console can make the life of an operator position much more intuitive. The Avaya IP Office application allows a user to see the status of hundreds of users and groups in an organized and useful application. Soft Console is not a softphone, it still requires a phone, and works best with a headset tied to the phone. In this mode the user can manage the entire process from a PC. Combine this experience with a Touch-Screen or Tablet PC and the receptionist position just went into the next century.
In our lab here we setup a typical 20 button phone, but could have done just as good with a 10 button version. The phone becomes an audio channel only. With a headset configured, the operator never needs to touch the actual phone. All control functions are made using the touch screen running Soft Console.
With the touch sensitive screen calls canbe answered by touching the call, or by tapping the highlighted button. Transfers are accomplished by dragging the call to the destination in the directory. Parking a call is as simple as touching the park slot, or draggin the call to the park slot. Essentially, any thing that can be done with the mouse can be replicated by a pen, or a finger touch, depending on the screen. With a Tablet PC and a Wireless phone, the operator postions could become mobile power houses of information and connectivity.
