Aruba Networks is the first vendor to receive Polycom Voice Interoperability for Enterprise Wireless (VIEW) Certification for its adaptive 802.11n wireless LANs. Prior to this certification, voice over wireless LAN handsets from Polycom, Nortel, Avaya, Alcatel and NEC could only be supported on 802.11a/b/g wireless LANs. As a result, hospitals, hotels, education campuses and back-office environments that needed in-building mobile voice and high speed data were unable to upgrade to an 802.11n wireless LAN. That situation has now been rectified – with VIEW certification in hand, you can now offer converged data and voice over wireless LAN solutions built on Aruba’s adaptive 802.11n platform.
In addition to offering the only VIEW certified 802.11n wireless LANs, Aruba provides two unique capabilities to ensure robust and secure network operation:
Only Aruba offers VIEW certified dynamic radio management with its Adaptive Radio Management (ARM) technology. ARM is a voice-aware feature that automatically optimizes wireless coverage in the event of interference, congestion, and other changes in the RF environment. Competing solutions from Cisco (RRM), Motorola (adaptive wireless), and Meru (virtual cell) do not offer certified automatic coverage tuning;
Only Aruba features an integrated role-based firewall to protect networks and voice communications. Voice handsets from Polycom and other vendors are typically deployed without authentication security either because they lack this feature or it has been disabled to reduce handoff times. Aruba’s role-based firewall compensates by analyzing and authorizing all voice traffic, protecting the integrity of the network where otherwise it could be compromised.
If you have a project that includes wireless LAN handsets from Polycom, Nortel, Avaya, Alcatel and NEC, Aruba’s VIEW certified 802.11n solutions are the choice for you. For more information, contact your Aruba representative or visit http://www.arubanetworks.com/partners/vwlan.php#polycom.
