Avaya SME Services

There are many questions about the new Avaya SME Services offer. We will try to clarify as much of this as possible. Here is what you will need to do as an Avaya Business Partner in order to receive Avaya Tier III support:

  1. Locate your Business Partner Sold to Number
  2. Call your Catalyst Sales Rep to purchase the Base SME support offer. ( this is a block of 5 hours) Part Number 244880
  3. Once you have purchased the Base Offer, add Catalyst’s Link ID ( obtained from your sales rep) to your Administrator page under your SSO log in.  This grants permission for Catalyst Technical Support to open a case with your sold to.
  4. Make sure that each member of your Technical Team has your sold to number. (This will alleviate lost time trying to track down the sold while on-site)

Please remember that the support you receive from Catalyst Telecom will continue to be free of charge. These offers are for escalation to Avaya Tier III only.

Upgrading Embedded Voicemail Prompts Using TFTP

There have been several updates to Embedded Voicemail over the last few releases of IP Office. When Avaya adds a feature like Dial by Name to Embedded Voicemail, the Embedded Voicemail card itself needs new audio prompts to accommodate the new feature. Oftentimes this is overlooked and when an individual tries to access Dial by Name through an Embedded Voicemail Auto Attendant, they are met with silence and assume the feature is broken. In reality, the feature is working fine but the Embedded Voicemail card lacks the audio prompts necessary to accommodate the new feature. (continue reading…)

Multi-Tech FaxFinder integration with IP Office

Avaya recently released an updated Application Note about integrating the Multi-Tech FaxFinder with IP Office via Analog station ports. The FaxFinder allows for mapping a number of DIDs to various destinations based on rules for each DID. Destinations can be email addresses, shared network folders, or printers. The unit also allows a user to send a fax from their desktop as simply as printing.

Q4 IP Office Maintenance Release

Today, Avaya announced the Q4 maintenance release of IP Office R5 firmware. The release version is 5.0(15) and is accompanied by maintenance releases of Voicemail Pro, Conference Center, Customer Call Reporter (CCR), one-X portal, and the User CD (Phone Manager, SoftConsole, and TAPI).

SysMonitor:H.323 Registration Events
