DST Changes Take Effect This Weekend

by DougR on Mar.06, 2009, under Avaya, Best Practices, Documentation, IP Office, Partner ACS

The semi-annual time adjustment is up on us once again.  Head into this springs time adjustment with a ace in your pocket.  First, verify the method of clocking used on the switches.  Second, be ready to create a back up – even better, a remote back up adjustment in the case the primary fails.

Each switch should sync to the new time with out intervention.  Partner ACS pulls it’s time from the Caller ID Time stamp on Release 7 91K (use F59 to check version).  IP Office can be adjusted from either a time server, a voicemail server, or a manual setting via a button. For a backup, create an admin button on a digital phone, and assign the action data of 2.

Remote Call Forwarding

by Tommy Edwards on May.19, 2008, under Avaya, Best Practices, Partner ACS

  1. The first step needed for remote call forwarding is assigning the extension that will be forwarding out in programming code #322. This gives the extension the permission to forward outside the system.
  2. The next step is to go under the extension’s personal speed dial list under entry 80. Assign the number that you want that extension to forward out to just as you would dial it.
  3. Next you need to assign a forward button on the forwarding extension (must be a button with lights). Let’s say you’re dealing with extension 15, then your forward button will be F11 15 80 (F11 is the forwarding code) (15 represents the ext. that will be forwarding out) and (80 represents ext. 15’s personal speed dial entry 80) So in essence your forwarding that call to the number saved in ext. 15’s personal speed dial list under entry 80.
