Quick Edition Find Back-Up Extension for Phones

Finding the back-up extensions for QE phones can be a very useful tool if you are having issues with Voicemail. As you know each users QE phone has (2) phones that back it up for VM Messages. The following procedure will help you dtermine what extension are being used as back-up extensions for each user.

From a command line you will need to:

Telnet to the IP address of one of the phones

Alternate TFTP Servers

TFTP servers are integral to upgrades on many platforms. On the Avaya IP Office, many times the Manager program acts a TFTP server, but is limited in capacity. Here is a list of free TFTP servers that can help with file transfers via TFTP.

Quick Edition Password Reset

At one of the phones on the network press OPTIONS

Select 1 for Options

Select 2 for System Options

At the bottom of the TUI screen you will see a blank soft key between “Bksp” and “Done”
