IP Phone Codes

Avaya IP Phones in the 46xx and the 56xx series have features built in for administration of some features.  These codes are essential for good administration and moves.  They can be difficult to find, and understand exactly what is being accomplished.  Here is a list of the codes, and the description.

Each code is preceded by pressing the MUTE or the HOLD button.  These two buttons should be interchangeable, but depending on the exact phone series and firmware one or the other may not work.

Quick Edition Find Back-Up Extension for Phones

Finding the back-up extensions for QE phones can be a very useful tool if you are having issues with Voicemail. As you know each users QE phone has (2) phones that back it up for VM Messages. The following procedure will help you dtermine what extension are being used as back-up extensions for each user.

From a command line you will need to:

Telnet to the IP address of one of the phones
